It’s a traditional dish from Bihar (also Jharkhand & eastern UP).

Litti

  • Wheat flour balls stuffed with sattu (roasted gram flour)

  • Spiced with mustard oil, garlic, ajwain, green chili, lemon

  • Traditionally roasted over coal or cow-dung fire, then drenched in ghee 🤍

Chokha

  • A rustic mash of roasted vegetables

  • Usually:

    • Baingan chokha (roasted eggplant)

    • Aloo chokha (boiled potatoes)

    • Sometimes tamatar chokha

  • Mixed with raw mustard oil, onion, garlic, green chili, salt, coriander
